Shelter From The Storms of Life

What You Can Do

There are several ways in which our supporters can assist us in serving our ladies.  Some of the accommodations we will have for the women, as they heal, learn and transition to private living are:
  • Job training availability through scholarships.  We also want to have available for the women new or "gently used" clothing, shoes, etc. appropriate for the workplace.
  • Assistance in low-income housing transitions, including household items such as furniture, small appliances, bed & bath items, and such.  Items that are necessary to "set up household."
  • You could donate warehouse or storage space for the above items.
  • A "ladies night out" at the movies or dinner.
  • A "day of beauty" for the ladies at a local spa or beauty salon.  Nothing like a massage and makeover to perk up the spirits!
  • Become a member of the Seraphim Manor organization (for more information see our Membership page)
  • You are encouraged to invite our Executive Director to make a presentation on domestic violence to your group. We currently have two presentations you could select.
  1. PowerPoint presentation "Domestic Violence and the Effect on our Community"
  2. Full-Day Seminar for Clergy "Pastoral Care for Domestic Violence" (how to respond to and council victims of domestic violence in your congregation) A FaithTrust Institute program

These are just some of the things that you can donate, individually or as a group, other than money, to assist these deserving women as they gain back their self-respect and dignity.

Come back to our site again  for more ideas and information.  We are always open to your ideas too, so feel free to share other innovative ways in which you feel you can minister to these wonderful ladies!   Thank you for caring.

All monetary donations can be sent to: Seraphim Manor, P.O. Box 27426, Los Angeles, CA 90027-0426
